Cristina Lapo is a Portuguese-Brazilian visual artist, living and workingbetween Rio de Janeiro and Lisbon. From 2000 to 2001, she studiedat the Kent Institute of Art & Design, later receiving a BA in VisualCommunication (Illustration) at the University of Central England.Afterwards, he graduated in Illustration from the ETIC Design Institute,Graduating from the Fine Arts from the San Francisco Art Institute,completing her Master's in Fine Arts at the institution in 2012.
The core elements of drawing and painting unfold into a fertile technical production: the point,the line and the plane. In her works, Lapo spatializes the lines of the drawing, using wood,chipboard, carbon steel and even hair. Her sculptures, photographs and paintings organize thelines in space and reinforce weight along with reciprocal influences of these transits anddisplacements, whether in the form of an imagery chaos of her serigraphs, or in the minimalisticlines articulated between the orthogonal planes of her sculptures.
