Cristian Sainz Marin was born in Barcelona where he lives and has his studio studio. An architect by training, it was in 2008 that he decided to devote himself to artistic activity and he chose oil painting.
Without the aid of brushes or brushes, and in order to have direct contact with the material, Cristian plays with the paint until he finds the desired effects. An emotional painter, he draws inspiration from the ever-changing sky and its endless expressions. He is taken by the transition of colors, temperatures, cloud formations and of course, by the absolute grandeur that has captured his imagination. He is fascinated by the ability of the sky to influence emotions and to represent them in their pure state. The realm of heaven on earth and everything that happens there continues to feed his imagination.
Like a landscape painter, Cristian aims to capture the dimension of light in the landscape. The actual light brightness cannot be imported directly into the paintings but trying is to apply different strategies with an override color, which creates the convincing illusion of daylight.

There is a distinct and familiar beauty to his work that touches the viewer's sensibilities no matter where they were born or raised. His work is universal. After studying technical architecture in 1995, he started working as an architect and decorator. During his career, he has carried out new constructions and restoration projects carried out inside and on the historic facades of the old town of Barcelona.
Although his grandfather loved painting, his relationship with the pictorial world was born in 2008, after renting a small room in Barcelona, in the "old town". There he began to paint regularly, self-taught, applying oil paint to wood. Self-teaching led him not to use brushes, but his hands to paint as well as paper, towels, clothes .....
