Claude Grand
Claude Grand is a painter and photographer whose life and career have been deeply influenced by his travels and experiences across Africa. Born in 1946 in Morocco, he was fortunate to grow up in various African countries, which shaped his worldview and allowed him to develop a unique appreciation for the colors and cultures of this diverse continent.
Claude began his artistic career very young with a passion for photography. He explored different African countries and captured their beauty through the lens of his camera. The pastel colors that characterize his photos are the result of his own development of slides and color negatives in his personal laboratory in Ivory Coast.
However, photography was not enough to fully express his inner feelings and emotions. This is how his passion for painting was born. For Claude, painting is a way to go beyond simple images and create unique emotions from a blank canvas. He paints dreamlike landscapes, colorful skies, characters imbued with mystery, giving free rein to his inner guide to express himself.
His artistic approach is spontaneous, like that of a child in front of a blank sheet of paper. He creates works that evoke deep emotions with just a few brushstrokes and a few colors. Among his first creations was "Chaos", a painting of crooked and crooked houses, which perhaps reflects something of his inner secret garden.
