What else would you expect in a secret garden? Other than gardening secrets. all those things that make your space special. The juxtaposition of wanted and weed, loved and laughables, healthy and helpless. I painted this with a wonderful mixture of old lacquers, hammerite, acrylic, inks and oils on Stretched Canvas (50cm x70cm) Painted round the edges[...]

I am an English fusion engineer and painter now painting in Provence. I've enjoyed painting all my life.  I paint mostly in oils, generally brightly coloured in a medium size to small format. Subjects vary from abstract, through whimsical and enigmatic to classic landscape. Styles also vary considerably. People, animals, trees and urban scenes feature in many of my works. Each painting is entirely original influenced by my environment and by the masters and the classics. My aim is to produce pleasing and thought-provoking paintings, that can be lived with. New works regularly added, new ideas willingly considered, special requests entertained. Just contact me.
