The artist, although American, reminds us here of the growing explosion of black people. His expression illuminates, like Matisse in dance, the aspirations of this people in what composes them best, that is to say jazz and everything that surrounds it. Not that the works here are a realistic illustration of its history but rather a window on its vitality. The undeniable lack of reflection on this theme demonstrates on the part of the artist an obvious desire to place himself from the point of view of lightness. The space here is gridded, perhaps reminiscent of certain cubists, woven in such a way that the overall vision is linked to the central action of the protagonists. We can thus evoke the mannerism of the futurists. However, this series of works forgets the final expression which makes the viewer believe that life is intense and rough, the dark color palette towards a rainbow alchemy and the faces devoid of any emotions make us perceive that here everything is without relief. The artist places his work in a folkloric illustration of black people, evoking here and there some of the great sportsmen who represent him, perhaps forgetting that art must be demanding, but that's just me.
