Camille Sanchez
Camille Sanchez is a children's illustrator. Author of a periodical comic strip The Adventures of Brother Adrien & Léo, published in the magazine Les Naturalistes des CJN du Québec, she also has two illustrated children's albums, The Adventures of Léo and Mister Birdy, from Verte Plume éditions. She also illustrates the “hide and seek” section of Abricot magazine at Fleurus Presse.
In addition to her work as an illustrator, Camille Sanchez is a painter.
Her favorite subjects are animals, symbols of authenticity and power, and the elements of nature in general, which she first represented figuratively.
The discovery of parietal art in the caves of Dordogne marks a turning point in his approach and his work. She is strongly impressed by the use of material and pure pigments. She finally found in this primitive art a freer and more essential way of painting.
His style then evolved towards the abstract, as a logical continuation. In his works, it is always nature that is represented, but in a more essential, even geometric, way. Imbued by her seaside environment, she is particularly fond of the color blue and its different shades. Silver and gold tones are also part of his usual palette.
