The exercise of imagination - to manifest the vibrations of light - out of chaos into a controlled and organized system - made physical. A repeating pattern, then seen readily by all who gaze upon it

Far from duotone, the green earth sits against a blue sky. This is the beauty of these two shades, everything and nothing, all at once. C.R. Kunferman is an avid nature photographer, however it has been a little known skill of his since 1994 when he picked up a 35mm manual focus camera. Growing up, film was a luxury that he had to conserve, and as such he developed a keen sense and intuition of when to let the lense open and close. Coupled with a lack of preview window meant that he would sometimes wait weeks just to see if the shot came out. And most of the time, it did.
And so, in contrast to many photography methods that involve taking multiple exposures, C.R. Kunferman still insists on his original methodology, which he has this to say about it: "You either get the shot, or you don't. With enough practice and sheer confidence aka belief, getting 24 shots in a row has only gotten easier. Take the shot, accept what's given to you with gratitude, and you'll find beauty in every frame. After awhile you see it through the lense and clicking the shutter becomes a reflex."
For the first time in 30 years, C.R. Kunferman photography is presented in print format, exclusively on ArtMajuer. All photos are single shot (Exif times/roll numbers available upon request) and original.
