Original Artwork refers to any work that is considered authentic and not a copy or imitation of the original works of an artist. Original artwork can be any type of painting, sculpture, performance, or other media. There are many types of original media. Mixed media includes oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings. For workshop paintings that bear evidence of master craftsmanship, this attribution must be further qualified. While they may be less valuable for different reasons, reproductions and copies have had a tremendous impact on our experience. They reach a greater audience than originals and act as a tonic against commodification. Original Artwork could also refer to the first work, which is always preceding all others. B.Rossitto is a women painter who paints from the heart, taking the viewer on an exploration of essence and perception. She sees things differently and is constantly studying to improve her perception, composition, and technical skills. She intends to depict more than just the objects in the composition, but also her understanding, feelings, and the essence of the location. "Painting causes her to pause for a moment, allowing her soul to embrace the beauty of nature." Because she enjoys the journey so much, receiving recognition for her art is "icing on the cake."

Barbara pushes herself as an artist to try new techniques and styles. She enjoys the camaraderie of other artists as well as the critique that comes from studying with both local and internationally acclaimed artists.

B.Rossitto studied pastels with master pastellist Claudia Post and watercolor with Tom Lynch, Janet Walsh, Shauna Shane, Frank Fredrico, and others. She studied oil portraiture with Clayton Beck III, Plein air, and still life with Sandra Wakeen, Shauna Shane, and David Lussier/Pamela Simpson (the plein air pair). Her work has been selected for the Northeast Watercolor Society International show as well as the Slater Museum's 67th Connecticut Artists Exhibition. She has received awards from the Essex Art Association for her oil painting, watercolor, photography, and pastel; the Madison Art Society and the Wethersfield Art League for her watercolors; and the West Hartford Art League and the Audubon Society for her photography.
