Betty Hanns is a contemporary French sculptor. Hanns uses newspaper, brief and mundane materials to sculpt. In order to provide reality to her slim forms, the artist goes a step further by bending, forging, and welding metals to create a skeleton, a metal frame that she then decorates with volume. Her works let us reflect on our temporal and relational space: the connection between Earth and sky, tangible and immaterial, ourselves and others, balance and imbalance. Man and woman, which are themes of her sculptures, are re-invented, worked, portrayed in the nude and explored to depict all their scruples.
Betty Hanns was born in 1960, in France. Since 1998, she has displayed her works all around Europe.
