Astrid Dahl is a contemporary Australian artist with a rich academic background in the arts. She completed a 4-year Diploma of Art at RMIT in Victoria, followed by a Diploma of Education from Teachers College in Melbourne. She later earned a Bachelor of Art and Art Education from Edith Cowan University in Western Australia, and a Masters of Art. Her art studies began at RMIT in Victoria, Australia.
With over 50 years of experience in both painting and teaching art, Astrid continues to evolve, constantly experimenting with new techniques and ideas. For her, the act of creating is the most exciting part of the artistic process.
Astrid's main focus is landscape, though not in the literal sense. She is drawn to the poetry, spirituality, philosophy, and abstracted nature of the land. Through her interpretations of the land — the Mother, representing both her beginning and ultimate end — she processes, discovers, and redefines her own life.
