Sarmisegetusa”, oil painting with pallet knife , different techniques, on canvas 50/70/4 cm, February 2019

Sarmizegetusa Dacica, Erected on top of a 1200 meter high mountain , was the ancient capital and the most important military, religious and political center of the Dacians. The sacred zone, It consisted of a setting of timber posts in the shape of a D, surrounded by a timber circle which in turn was surrounded by a low stone kerb. The layout of the timber settings bears some resemblance to the stone monument at Stonehenge in England. Sarmizegethusa reached its zenith under King Decebal.
Sarmisegetusa was an important place for The cult of the sun in which Phoenix bird was a powerful symbol.
The Dacian’s gold was hidden in many places as it was wanted and searched it ... coins, jewelry and even gold helmets... and a part of it, hidden right here in Sarmisegetusa.

As an artist of Romanian origin residing in France, I am self-taught and deeply influenced by the complexities of life, my personal emotions, and spirituality. My artwork has garnered recognition and appreciation around the world, and it's been showcased in private collections in several countries, including the USA, France, Belgium, England, the Netherlands, the UK, Italy, Malaysia, and Romania. In addition, my art has also been featured on the walls of renowned institutions like the Elysee Palace and NASA Houston.

A Personal Approach

As an artist, I prefer working in series, each of which is centered around a specific theme that communicates a message or even a history lesson. A series usually comprises 11-to-22 paintings, all created within a year. These themes are unique to each series, and so is the technique utilized, which often gives the impression that they were painted by different artists.

My style of painting has been described as "intelligent painting" due to its innovative nature. I use a range of materials to create my pieces, including acrylics, oils, gold or silver leaf, paper, and coarse paste. I also employ a variety of tools, including brushes, sponges, palette knives, and even my fingers, to bring my ideas to fruition.
