Biography.
 Victor Anufriev was born  and grew up at the Volga exspanses. From here comes the artist inherent scope and love of monumental forms even in small works.
 Since his childhood Victor had been watching the ancient paintings and icons in the churches and monostaries of his native town, soaking up  the ancient traditions of Gorodets painting. The atmosphere of Gorodets in itself, the unique flavor of the local architecture and painting influenced his choice of the future profession.
 Victor Anufriev as an a artist was greatly influenced by the atmosphere of Leningrad Muhinskaya Acadamy, where he got his first degree at the section of interior and design and the second – at the section of monumental painting.  Having inherited the best traditions of one of the strongest creative schools in Russia, the artist can  freely express himself using an inimitable language of images and symbols. The keen impression of the material, the sence of rhythm and composition, the masterful line drawing define the artist’s style.
 After the graduation from the Academy Victor remained in St.Petersburg.  But, nevertheless , he still stays  faithful to his hometown. Since 1991 Victor Anufriev is the member of St.Petersburg  section of the monumental painting of the Russian Union of Artists.
 In 1997 and 2001 he took part in the international art competition ‘’ Osaka Triennale’’ in Japan, where he became the only winner from Russia. Since 1993 he annually takes part in International  and solo  exhibitions, organizes  personal exhibitions in Russia and abroad. More than 50 personal exhibitions have been organized in Europe, North and South America.
 In 2000 his solo thematic exhibition of abstract Russian icons took place in Ecuadorian museum «Fundasion Osvaldo Guayasamina». Victor Abufriev lectured in the University of Arts in Quioto. Since 1998 ten solo exhibitions have been organised in Quito supported by Ecuadorian-American Chamber of Commerce, hotel chain «Swissotel» and the gallery «MarsuArte».
In 2012 Victor Anufriev was invited to teach painting and drawing the professors of Chinese University in Shenyang. He cooperates with the Vast Art Galary in Shanghai.
The artist’s works are in private collections and in different museums. Creative workers and politicians, musicians and artists from Russia and other countries are among his admirers.
Victor Anufriev experiments in his work, having walked away from visual  and academic copying nature. The original expressive technique allows the artist to obtain the expressive colour effects and complexe texture of painting and makes his works recognizable.
The paintings of Victor Anufriev are perceived integrally both at the great and thematic exhibitions. They attract both an inexperienced viewer, accustomed  to the realistic interpretation of the world, and the connoisseur of modern art  and the avant-garde.
