Anna Ivanova
Artist, full time magician.
Art is my passion and one of the meaning of my life for already 15 years. I love to observe real life and create paintings\drawings\illustrations from real life and from imagination as well with very different art materials - oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, pencils, pastel and e.t.c. I like to choose level of stylization of my artworks from realism to illustration. Among with the opportunity to switch between materials and choose any theme to paint - this a real freedom as an artist that I have.
Graduated as a graphic designer from ITMO (Institute of Technology, Mechanic and Optics) Saint-Petersburg Russia in 2007. And around this, I started my career in the game industry as a freelance artist. I did game graphics, character design, concept art, icons, animations, and many many more.
At the start of 2019, I reintroduced to traditional art and fell head over heels in love with creating my personal art, painting from life, and plein air painting. I try to spend every spare minute towards building a fine art career and working on being better as an artist.
Now I moved in Nice, France and continue to work on my art career here.

Sketching with brush pens and colored pencils
A small sketch with brush pens and Polychromos. I reread Frida Kahlo's biography and came across her photo in her youth, immediately decided to sketch - those eyebrows and eyes in contrast with a huge bow ♥️

Varnished miniatute cat oil painting which I did around a year ago with Sennelier satin varnish. Some relaxing process.
A half first impressions and a half art haul review for my new acrylic paints from Sennelier, extra-fine artist quality. I'm a fan of Abstract series and was excited to try this series too. I bought a basic palette pigments and did some swatches.
A quick tip how to save leftover acrylic paints after painting session (when you don’t have a wet palette or any special palette, like I’m right now) - just smear those paints on a next surface you plan working on as imprimatura. I always do like this because any paints worth to be used. If I don’t have an opportunity to do so I just accept it.
Latest still life sketch with gouache in tonal watercolor sketchbook while coffee time.
I’ve been painting a surprise portrait as a gift for my cousin for the past few days. I’ve been thinking about the concept of illustration for a while and decided to do it in semi-realism, with medieval portraits / old masters vibes, but not so stylized. I worked with gouache on watercolor paper with a little bit touches of colored pencils in some details.
