This painting is part of a series exploring the emotion of envy. Flowers represent natural beauty, highlighting that all forms of beauty deserve to exist. Comparing a rose to a violet or expecting a rose to turn purple is unreasonable.

This analogy illustrates envy as an emotion that robs happiness and lacks objectivity.

Inspired by literary comparisons of flowers and envy, found in the works of John Keats, Christina Rossetti, and François Fénelon, the paintings are titled with lines from their poems.

In this piece, I've melded vibrant oil pastels to craft a visceral, raw expression of emotion. The stark contrast between the fiery reds and deep blacks evokes a sense of intense passion and turmoil, while the central flower symbolizes beauty and resilience amidst chaos. This artwork is a fierce reminder of the enduring strength and grace found within struggles, ideal for energizing and inspiring any living space.

Anna Gaikovich is a contemporary Armenian artist known for her exploration of life's contrasts, the evolution of mediums, and visual imagery. With a focus on addressing social issues, Anna employs a unique artistic method known as metacollaging, blending non-obvious elements, traditional art, and modern technologies to create thought-provoking works.

At the heart of Anna's artistry lies a deep examination of the role of women in contemporary society. Through her latest works, she undertakes the deconstruction of female images and ventures into experiments with augmented reality (AR), pushing the boundaries of artistic expression and engaging viewers in critical dialogues about our reality, particularly regarding social roles and global culture.

Collaborating with international galleries in the USA and Europe, Anna Gaikovich has garnered acclaim both at home and abroad. Her works have found homes in private collections across the globe, including the USA, Austria, and the United Kingdom. With each piece she creates, Anna invites viewers to contemplate the complexities of our world, encouraging reflection on societal norms, gender dynamics, and the broader cultural landscape.
