Ángeles Alcántara (Córdoba, 1965) studied Fine Arts, specializing in Painting, at the University of Seville. She furthered her training through numerous scholarships and courses both in Spain and abroad.
Her artistic journey has passed through various stages that have shaped her work to this day. Her early work was marked by the academic training received in Seville, focusing on oil and acrylic painting. From 2005 onwards, she began incorporating paper into her works, developing a personal artistic language through collage and décollage.
Driven by a continuous desire to explore, and after expanding her studies in screen printing and photography, her work evolved toward a more transversal and contemporary approach where the technique itself is no longer central. Her work reveals a critical inquiry into social behaviors and non-stereotypical roles within the society that surrounds her—always preserving a sense of sensitivity, innocence, nostalgia for what fades, and the freshness of unfinished art.
