In Andriy Solovyov's evocative photograph "Mooring rope," the viewer is transported to a peaceful waterfront setting where the artist captures the quiet elegance of a mooring rope resting gently on the aged wooden planks of a pier. The stillness of the scene, combined with the intricate details of the rope's texture and the weathered grains of the pier, creates a captivating juxtaposition of nature and human intervention. The play of light and shadows further enhances the composition, adding a sense of depth and mystery to the image.

Solovyov's keen eye for composition and his ability to infuse ordinary subjects with a sense of poetry and contemplation is evident in this photograph. By focusing on the humble mooring rope, a utilitarian object often overlooked in its simplicity, the artist invites us to pause and appreciate the beauty in the mundane, to find grace in the ordinary rituals of daily life.

Through "Mooring rope," Solovyov encourages us to reevaluate our surroundings, to see beyond the surface of things and discover the hidden stories and emotions tied to everyday objects. This photograph serves as a reminder of the interconnectedness between humanity and the natural world, urging us to reflect on our relationship with our environment and the traces we leave behind in the spaces we inhabit.

I am interested in different categories of abstraction, as well as people and nature — my favorite themes. In my earlier work, I used film cameras, but now I prefer digital ones. Recently, I choose digital cameras for their high image detail.

I enjoy showing the extraordinary in the ordinary. Light and shadow create an amazingly elegant, ephemeral beauty in the surrounding world and a subtle simplicity in the image.

In most of my photographs, I shoot documentarily, but the only change in this process occurs when I work on the computer to make the final edits for printing. It is here that I allow myself greater freedom in how the photograph will ultimately look. I enjoy photographing in series.
