Through the use of light, shadow, and tones, the photography not only conveys images of nature, but also my perception of the surrounding environment and a sense of deep connection with nature. Each photograph in this series acts as a window into a world of marvelous fairy-tale images that invite you on a unique journey of emotions and discoverie.

Winter Crimea. “Winter Crimea” is a photo series dating back to 2009-2011, that spans land- and sea-scapes as well as elements connected to sea and natural beauty of Crimea. The photos were made before the peninsula’s occupation. Each photo is a proof of uniqueness of each captured object on this land and in this environment. Though these photos convey the eerie sense of being stuck in time while waiting in suspense for something to come.

Biography
I am interested in different categories of abstraction, as well as people and nature — my favorite themes. In my earlier work, I used film cameras, but now I prefer digital ones. Recently, I choose digital cameras for their high image detail.
I enjoy showing the extraordinary in the ordinary. Light and shadow create an amazingly elegant, ephemeral beauty in the surrounding world and a subtle simplicity in the image.
In most of my photographs, I shoot documentarily, but the only change in this process occurs when I work on the computer to make the final edits for printing. It is here that I allow myself greater freedom in how the photograph will ultimately look. I enjoy photographing in series.
