From the first steps in life we are objects of societyís constraints.
Daily routine, stress and fears control our every move, sentiment and thoughts. In solving our problems we use a
certain model, learned in a precise framework which makes any novelty unknown and aggressive. Thus, the New
generates a resistance to change due to the fact that we are formed in frameworks that already have created their
own images of reality. Not even arts, considered the expression of freedom of action, communication and thinking
make no exception.
Far from societyís restraints, Graffiti is a product of the Hip-hop culture, that is spreading very fast and it is
becoming an art exhibited in galleries and museums. Contrary to the deformed image promoted by mass-media, Graffiti
follows general principles like respect, peace, unity and harmony.
In my artistic approach I did not intend to use already existing patterns or techniques like 3d letters, wild style,
bubble, but I preferred a new one, more profound and with a bigger impact on common thinking: MATHEMATRIX, which is
a reflection of my own name, a method of spreading positive messages extracted from negative thoughts, a detach from
the normality imposed and controlled trough standard frameworks. MATHEMATRIX is based on calligraphic inscriptions
and the distortion and spelling of characters in a new way defined by contrasts and powerful colors. It is an original
concept trough I create characters made from figures, a personal alphabet that reflects my passion for numbers and
my wish to connect the reality with the artistic realm, which illustrates the discovery of complete freedom based
on forms and colors. Like a gravitational field I wish my works to exert an attraction on thoughts and sentiments
and to open the soul to positive forces.
