THE GOAT
The goat climbs the mountain, with the horns
at the ready.
The mountain is a throne for the goat.
Among the rocks, proud, flaunts
the power of your strict domain.
What is life? what are we in the pasture
of exist? What grass, what bones do we gnaw?

The goat climbs the mountain, with the horns
at the ready.
The mountain is a throne for the goat.
Among the rocks, proud, flaunts
the power of your strict domain.

of exist? What grass, what bones do we gnaw?
The goat lets out a scream from above.
The dry black and white scream breaks
and, ricocheting, recognizes
the territory of herd, flock and kingdom.
The goat rules over its limits.

O bode sobe a montanha, com os chifres
em riste.
A montanha é um trono para o bode.
Entre os rochedos, orgulhoso, ostenta
o poderio do seu domínio estrito.
Que é a vida? O que somos nós no pasto
do existir? Que capim, que ossos roemos?
O bode solta um grito nas alturas.
O grito preto e branco, seco, quebra-se
e, ricocheteando, reconhece
o território do rebanho, grei e reino.
O bode impera sobre os seus limites.
