Alexandr Gerassimov is a contemporary artist from Kazakhstan. His journey into the world of painting began in 1999, focusing initially on realism and surrealism. Gerassimov honed his skills while working at the Museum of Fine Arts in Petropavlovsk, where he specialized in the restoration of icons and paintings.

In 2004, he ventured into independent work in his own studio, shifting his focus towards non-objective painting and abstract works. During this period, his aversion to realism grew stronger. Two years later, in 2006, Gerassimov held his first solo exhibition, marking a significant milestone in his artistic career.

By 2011, he expanded his creative repertoire by collaborating with a drama theater. He took on roles as a set designer, composer, and art director, further diversifying his artistic endeavors.

Over the years, Gerassimov has sold more than 3,000 paintings. His works have found homes in private collections across the globe, including in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, Canada, the USA, Germany, Ukraine, Belarus, the Czech Republic, Austria, France, Japan, and China.

His latest collection, titled "Post-apocalyptic Portraits in Gas Masks. Dystopia Through My Eyes," reflects his deep contemplation of the future. This series of abstract portraits depicts various individuals united by their struggle for survival in a dystopian future. Each subject is portrayed wearing a gas mask, symbolizing their fierce fight for life. Through this collection, Gerassimov poses critical questions about humanity's future, pondering whether there is hope or if a classic post-apocalyptic scenario awaits us.
