Vengo del muro: más de veinte años entre polvo y pintura. Hoy no restauro iconos: los confronto. Las imágenes que veneramos se oxidan en su pureza; las saco a la intemperie: graffiti sobre la tela como quien pone a prueba un ídolo, no para destruirlo, sino para devolverle el pulso. La juventud del trazo juzga a lo antiguo sin pedir permiso. Trabajo con dos fuerzas: voluntad de forma y voluntad de profanación. Entre ambas nace la obra: líneas que sentencian, campos de color que no se disculpan, silencios tensos. No doy mi rostro; doy conflicto. Si lo sagrado quiere vivir, que se defienda.

I come from the wall: more than twenty years between dust and paint. Today I do not restore icons—I confront them. The images we venerate corrode in their purity; I drag them into the open air: graffiti on canvas, as one might test an idol—not to destroy it, but to return its pulse. The youth of the stroke judges the old without asking permission. I work with two forces: the will to form and the will to profane. Between them the work is born: lines that condemn, fields of color that do not apologize, tense silences. I do not give my face; I give conflict. If the sacred wishes to live, let it defend itself.
