Currently recurring themes I have been developing are men sitting on benches. I prefer to use bold colours and simple childlike brush strokes as a manner of conveying the simplicity of our inherent end and the futility of our existence.
The allegorical presence of the bench series arose from the lonely, peacefulness one experiences in such circumstances. The bench is also a symbol of the temporary 'faux' respite from the busy lives we lead.My works are a means of dealing with these sentiments; to express the beauty in the nothingness.
