Nato a Brescia nel 1957 e cresciuto a Milano, Alberto Capitani è un artista digitale che unisce la formazione classica alla tecnologia contemporanea. Diplomato in pianoforte al Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi (con ulteriori studi in composizione e musica elettronica), ha studiato logica matematica e filosofia teorica all'Università degli Studi di Milano. Per oltre quarant'anni ha insegnato pianoforte nelle scuole medie ad indirizzo musicale.
Negli ultimi anni si è concentrato sulle arti visive, collaborando con Midjourney, DALL·E e ChatGPT. Ad oggi ha creato circa 1.700 opere, spesso organizzate in serie: immagini e testi sono concepiti come complementari, mentre le dichiarazioni di serie forniscono il filo conduttore che incornicia ogni collezione come un insieme coerente. La sua ricerca rimane volutamente aperta nello stile: lo stile è un mezzo (e a volte la scintilla) nella ricerca della sostanza artistica, piuttosto che un obiettivo prefissato.
Dichiarazione dell'artista
Lavoro all'intersezione tra immagini e parole. Molte opere sono concepite come coppie: un'immagine e una descrizione concisa che si completano artisticamente. Oltre alle singole opere, costruisco storie grafico-concettuali, sequenze guidate da una dichiarazione di serie che definisce contesto, tono e direzione.
L'intelligenza artificiale è la mia partner di studio. Tra algoritmo e metafora, tra luce e ironia, cerco forme che si mettono in discussione e invitano lo spettatore a seguire il filo della serie. Ogni opera negozia tra il visibile e l'invisibile, lo strutturato e lo spontaneo, l'umano e l'artificiale.
