Alain Rivier est né le 21 novembre 1946 à Angers il a été initié assez tôt aux Arts en général et à la peinture en particulier.

Du plus loin de son enfance, la peinture m'a toujours bouleversée et interpellée...
Aujourd'hui, inspiré par ma mère, et, un ami peintre qui m’a initié aux couleurs, je me laisse guider par eux de façon inconsciente et mon plaisir reste intact devant une toile blanche avec cette intense envie de peindre et l’angoisse de se tromper... J'ai été l'élève en 2010 et 2011 de Christoff DEBUSCHERRE (Académie de peinture au Moulin de Perrot en Ardèche), il m'a fait découvrir de nouvelles techniques. Il m'a aidé à sécuriser mon geste, faire glisser mes brosses dans des formes et des couleurs nouvelles en respectant ma prédilection pour les bleus, les gris, les ocres et le jeu des contrastes....Grâce à Christoff DEBUSCHERRE, la découverte des terres d'ombre naturelle, la réhabilitation du noir, et la simplification de ma palette ont changé ma vision et mes techniques de peinture. L'avènement du noir malgré le rejet par certains peintres m'apporte une possibilité de contrastes à ma peinture ... J'ai découvert une déclinaison de vert en passant par un mélange de noir, de jaune et d’outremer. J'aime et je réalise ce que disait mon Maître : peindre c'est recouvrir une toile avec des couleurs et laisser venir son sujet ......
