Aket, a self-taught painter since a young age, was influenced by comics and graffiti. Today his main source of inspiration comes from Cubism, although he also appreciates the work of Combas and Basquiat.

Since his childhood, he has signed his creations under the pseudonym AKET, which dates back to the time when he created his first graffiti. This nickname comes from a unique physical characteristic, inspired by a punchline from a rap group.

As a return to his roots, he quite naturally signed his first paintings under the name AKET ten years later. His style has evolved over time, and today, he creates unstructured portraits by multiplying the elements and shapes of the face, while accentuating features and lines.

We find in his work the influence of cubist painters such as Picasso or Condo. Aket shapes faces with playful shapes, sometimes abstract, sometimes figurative, but always cubic.

Trying to reflect a time when the world is freezing before our eyes, he draws his inspiration from French expressions and the verbal jousts of everyday life, particularly in music. From bistro scenes to musicians, Aket likes to represent life and the multiple facets that make up a person.

The black lines he uses emphasize the different complex shapes that follow one another, creating a multifaceted face. In perpetual research and evolution, he now devotes himself to scenes of life, both indoors and outdoors. The end result of each of his works brings to life the depiction of everyday scenes and actions, thereby capturing the essence of life itself.
