Every snowflake is one of a kind due to its lone journey through the atmosphere all the way to the ground. This paper sculpture is inspired by the formation of snow crystals and the phenomenon of how a journey and experience shapes something.

Through this artwork I have explored the fantasy of what if the snow crystal captured what it witnessed. A memory frozen within its heart that blooms into its structure and colors. Titled 'Firefly' the artwork captures the transient essence of the mesmerizing firefly. Its captive glow illuminates the pitch darkness.

The artwork is made up of 16 layers of intricately cut paper. Each layer is stacked on top of another adding to its depth. It comes alive under the spell of light, revealing its true dimensional value. You will lose yourself in the art as you decode the geometric complexity and color transitions. Enjoy the 2D illusion from afar or come closer for the 3D experience. An exquisite artwork that is a genuine gem for your personal space. It is a great gift for house warming or an anniversary. Something that will be cherished for a long time.

Care Instructions:
• Avoid keeping the paper artwork in harsh sunlight.
• Avoid keeping the artwork in a damp area.

Process
The artwork goes through a painstakingly long design process.
• Starting with design conceptualization and how best to portray it.
• Then weeks of drafting, layering and experimenting with color combinations.
• Followed by converting the 2D designs into 3D.
• After this the final cutting and layering is done and the paper sculpture is complete.
• A high level of precision is required as even a small error could lead to redoing the entire design.

Zubin Jhaveri is a contemporary Mumbai-based paper sculptor and designer. Graduating from art college marked the beginning of a profound journey of self-discovery and expression for him. It was during this transformative period that Scaled Dimensions emerged, a manifestation of his quest for profound significance in art, aimed at dismantling the conventional boundaries of dimensions to transport viewers into mesmerizing realms.

As an artist, Zubin thrives on experimentation, constantly expanding his repertoire of skills. His artistic journey commenced with the creation of photo-realistic portraits and intricate scale models, evolving into the realm of designing 3D puzzles and crafting paper sculptures. Despite traversing diverse mediums over the years, paper remains Zubin's cornerstone for articulating his vision, rooted in his childhood hobby of paper modeling that blossomed into a consuming passion.

Zubin's artistic ethos revolves around infusing forgotten subjects with his distinctive perspective, unearthing multifaceted layers within them. This inclination towards exploration from various vantage points reflects in the serial nature of much of his work. Each project typically spans a year, during which Zubin diligently endeavors to imbue it with increasing intricacy and vibrancy, surpassing the previous endeavor.

In recent years, Zubin has dedicated himself to his most ambitious projects yet, notably 'Spectral Matrix' and 'Transcendence', which have captivated his creative energies for the past two years. Through his artistry, Zubin Jhaveri invites audiences to embark on a journey of discovery, where imagination transcends conventional boundaries to explore the boundless realms of creativity.
