Yuliya Gransart
As far back as I can remember, I have always been drawn to images. As a child, I could spend hours observing, inventing stories, and interpreting what I saw. Then came colors, conveying intense emotions, steeped in the culture and folklore of my native Ukraine.
Born and raised in Ukraine until I was 21, I grew up in an environment where culture and traditions held a central place. As soon as I could hold a brush or a needle, I devoted myself to reproducing the floral patterns on local objects and garments, inspired by my grandmother's artisanal creations.
My student life then took me to Belgium and France. Europe, with its rich history and culture, pushed me to fully embrace my artistic passion. I attended painting and modeling classes at the European Academy of Fine Arts in Brittany, and the sale of some of my paintings in the United States convinced me to pursue my dream. I then obtained a degree in arts, letters, and languages at the Sorbonne. These years of study were an invaluable gift, which I decided to share by becoming a teacher.
Today, I divide my time between teaching at a college and working in my studio. This duality allows me to explore my ideas while sharing my knowledge. In my work, colors dance to the rhythm of my emotions, creating an intimate link between my Ukrainian roots and my current life.
Through my exhibitions, paintings, embroideries, and special commissions, I continue my artistic journey, always in search of beauty, expression, and questioning.
