Yashashri Rao

Hi, I am Yashashri Rao, born and brought up in the food capital of Madhya Pradesh in India to a family of traders and merchants. I have had a fascinating yet a commonplace background, among folks with a creative bent of mind, in biology. At the tender age of 19, the meticulous dissection sessions took a turn toward the fine arts. 

 As a committed, self taught artist I have had the privilege of developing my curriculum in an experimental and unorthodox fashion. I started my journey in realism, to which I still owe my foundation in the fine arts and more than a decade of my career. This stretch was often punctuated with modest ventures in my experimentation with resin, sculpting, airbrushing and more recently - body casting. 

 The diversified and experimental nature of my explorations has helped me develop a peculiar visual language with which I wish to demonstrate the unsaid and enveloped emotions of the body.
