Yaz is a French contemporary artist born in 1974 in Constantine, a city carved into the rock cliffs of northern Algeria — a birthplace that would become a metaphor for his work: raw, layered, and timeless. Raised in Montreal and later in France, Yaz’s journey is one of exile, reinvention, and the relentless pursuit of creation. After a brief detour as a trader on the Paris Stock Exchange — a role he took on to fund his art — he returned to his true calling: giving form to emotion.


Working between Paris, Bali, and wherever inspiration strikes, Yaz is a nomadic creator and a world citizen. His multidisciplinary practice spans sculpture, painting, photography, mixed media, and the art of mirrors. Through bronze, resin, and aluminum, he gives shape to what escapes words: intimacy, fracture, identity, memory.


Each piece is handmade, infused with a physical intensity that reflects his bold, instinctive style. His works blur the lines between the sacred and the urban, the personal and the political. They are unapologetically present — visual poems rendered in metal, mirror, and light.
