Apart from its exceptional thickness, the fiber paper is composed of an alpha-cellulose base without acid and it is covered with barium sulphate, and a microporous layer absorption enhancing pigments during printing. A pure white color, non-yellowing to light, this paper is especially designed for resistance and aging. The golden shape, composed of precise and harmonious lines, suggests a directional energy, leading the eye vertically across the composition. The gradient background, which moves from deeper to lighter tones, enhances the sense of depth and spatial expansion, while also reinforcing the idea of ascension or descent—depending on the viewer’s perception.
This piece plays with the ambiguity between geometric abstraction and organic suggestion, inviting the viewer to oscillate between a rational, analytical reading and a more intuitive, emotional experience. It is this dual field—between form and interpretation—that makes the work especially potent, engaging, and intellectually stimulating.
The choice of gold is not merely aesthetic; it functions as a symbolic and formal anchor. In this context, gold transcends its material value to become a metaphor for what is precious, hidden, or revealed through the act of contemplation.
“Geometric Echoes” stands as a refined exercise in visual minimalism and conceptual density, demonstrating the artist’s ability to evoke depth with economy of form and chromatic restraint.

Exhibition Contexts and Ideal Settings – “Geometric Echoes”
1. Minimalist Contemporary Art Gallery
In a spacious venue with white walls and directed lighting, Geometric Echoes can breathe with elegance. The absence of distractions allows its quiet composition to speak directly to the viewer, creating impact through contrast and purity.
2. Exhibitions with Themes of Duality or Ambiguity
This piece fits beautifully within exhibitions that explore the tension between opposites: form and void, reason and emotion, masculine and feminine, spiritual and earthly. Its visual and symbolic ambiguity invites deep reflection, making it an ideal curatorial centerpiece.
3. High-End Contemporary Architectural or Corporate Spaces
Spaces with clean and sophisticated design — such as luxury hotel lobbies, innovative corporate offices, or art-curated residences — would further enhance the work, which adds a note of contemplation and refinement.
4. Exhibitions on Sacred Geometry, Symbolism, and Abstraction
The work could be included in a curatorial narrative focused on the symbolism of form, the golden ratio, and the visual mysteries that unite art, science, and spirituality.
5. Individual Installation with Sound or Sensory Experience
A darkened room, with pinpoint lighting and a subtle ambient soundtrack — such as deep pulses or soft metallic echoes — can amplify the immersive experience of the piece, revealing its meditative and enigmatic character.
6. High-Curated Art Fairs or International Exhibitions
Geometric Echoes has the potential to stand out in highly curated contemporary art fairs. Its aesthetic and conceptual balance appeals to collectors drawn both to beauty and to symbolic depth.

Yann Aufus: The Alchemy of Science, Art, and Soul
The name Yann Aufus is a profound expression of transformation and meaning. Blending Hebrew roots with scientific symbolism, the name reflects the intersection of the human and the divine, the material and the spiritual, the rational and the emotional. The symbolic translation of Yann Aufus – “John, the alchemist of gold” – encapsulates the journey of a creator who shapes the ordinary to reveal the extraordinary.
From Chemical Engineering to Art: A Fusion of Knowledge
With a background in Chemical Engineering and advanced degrees (Master’s and PhD) in Catalysis, Yann Aufus devoted years to studying the reactions that transform raw materials into something functional and valuable. Catalysis – the art of accelerating chemical reactions and optimizing processes – became the central metaphor of his life and work. Just as a catalyst creates bridges between substances, Yann connects worlds: science and art, reason and emotion, past and future.
Throughout his academic career, he explored the chemistry of materials, seeking innovations with societal impact. In parallel, his passion for artistic creation emerged as a natural extension of his curiosity and creativity. Inspired by the historic and cultural landscapes of Ouro Preto and Ouro Branco (Brazil), he began transforming canvas, paint, raw materials such as iron oxides, industrial waste, and reclaimed wood into artistic pieces that speak to both history and the future.
Artistic and Cultural Evolution
Over the years, Yann Aufus built a bridge between his technical expertise and artistic sensibility.
Art as Alchemy: Inspired by chemistry, his artworks explore transformative processes. Elements such as gold, iron, and geometric textures reflect the duality between luxury and decay, nature and industrialization.
Sustainability and Storytelling: He incorporates mining residues, such as red mud, to create art that not only captivates but also raises awareness of humanity’s environmental impact. Each piece is a reflection on the necessity of transformation – of both materials and mindset.
Cultural Influences: Living in the historic towns of Minas Gerais, he absorbed the local cultural richness, translating it into an aesthetic that honors the region’s artistic and natural heritage.
For Yann Aufus, art is a means to catalyze emotions and reflection. His mission is to transform the viewer’s perception, revealing that true gold lies not only in rare materials, but in the ability to find value where others see only the ordinary.
With Yann Aufus, every piece is a fusion – of science, art, and soul. It is an alchemical journey that connects the earthly to the divine, the rational to the spiritual. As both artist and engineer, he invites the world to rediscover the beauty of transformation, celebrating the human power to create and transcend.
