Wolfango Chiappella
Hi everyone,
I’m Wolfango Chiappella. I was born in Fossano, Italy, in 1971, and ever since I was a kid growing up in the beautiful Piedmont region—with its rolling hills, vineyards, and nearby Alpine foothills—I’ve felt a deep connection with nature.
I’ve always loved mixing art and science. I studied natural and earth sciences alongside fine arts and architecture, and this blend helps me appreciate the magic of how light, colour, and texture come together in our world.
In 1997, I moved to Buckinghamshire, England, where the peaceful countryside—with its reflective waterways, gentle fields, and ever-changing skies—has sparked a fresh wave of inspiration. My Italian roots and the charm of British landscapes both play a role in shaping my work, blending classic styles with my own heartfelt impressions of life.
When I paint, it’s more than just capturing a scene; it’s about sharing a feeling, a memory, or a fleeting moment of beauty. I love using bold brushstrokes and vibrant colours to bring my compositions to life—whether it’s a warm sunset over a canal or the quiet strength of a figure. I hope my art encourages you to pause, reflect, and connect with the beauty in everyday moments. And if one of these pieces speaks to you, can you imagine it finding a special place in your home?
Living here in Buckinghamshire, I continue to draw on the natural beauty that surrounds me. My art is a personal journey—a way to connect different cultures, places, and the emotions we all share.
Thanks for being part of this journey with me

Finalist Again – Can You Spare a Vote?
SAA Artists of the Year Finalist 2025
My painting Flooded Eythrope has somehow made its way into the finals of the SAA Artist of the Year 2025. That’s three years in a row now — not bad for someone who mostly paints in muddy boots and silence.
If you’d like to support my work, you can vote here:
It only takes a moment and makes a real difference. Feel free to pass it on to anyone who might appreciate a moody bit of Buckinghamshire in oil paint.
Thanks for following my work.

SAA Artists of the Year Finalist 2025
SAA Society for All Artists UK
I’m delighted to share that my painting Flooded Eythrope has been selected as a finalist for the SAA Artists of the Year 2025 competition. Out of more than a thousand entries, it has found its way into the top 50. It’s still sinking in!
This is actually the third year running that my work has made it to the final. Last year, it was Beinale, and the year before that Hedge (which somehow came third overall). I must be doing something right, or at least painting things that get noticed.
Flooded Eythrope is also up for the People’s Choice Award, so if you’d like to support me with a vote when the time comes, I’d be very grateful. Voting opens on 23 June 2025 and I’ll remind everyone once it’s live.
Thank you to everyone who’s supported me—whether through kind words, sharing my work, or even those classic questions (“Are you sure that’s not a cow?”). It all helps and keeps me going.
People's Choice Award – Bucks Art Society Spring Exhibition 2025
Apparently, people like puddles.
Flooded Eythrope, my quietly soggy landscape from a few winters ago, was voted People’s Choice at the Bucks Art Society Spring Exhibition 2025 in Beaconsfield. Which is lovely, and unexpected — especially considering how calm and unshouty the painting is.
Flooded Eythrope – Oil on wooden panel, 2025, 30 × 30 cm
It’s based on a real spot near Waddesdon that turned into a temporary lake after a big rain. Not dramatic. No stormy skies. Just stillness, water, and light — the kind of view that doesn’t try too hard, but somehow stays with you.
Big thanks to everyone who wandered in, voted, and maybe stood still in front of it for a bit. And hats off to the Bucks Art Society for putting on another great show.
