This award-winning piece, done with pigmented Chinese inks on paper, probes the sense of isolation and separateness that accompany the creative process. Sometimes the need to splash ones feelings onto a canvas, making them in some respects visible to the world, conjures up deep seated and rival sentiments. Sent it a tailspin, looked away from prying eyes, the manic passions drive one to delve deeper and the images that ultimately come to be portrayed illustrate this sense of contradictions.
