Xie Wenjin, born in 1980 in Anhui Province, China, is a contemporary artist and a Doctor of Fine Arts from the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts. He is a member of the Chinese Artists Association and the Shanghai Artists Association. Xie is also an associate professor and postgraduate tutor at the Shanghai University of Applied Sciences.
His works have been showcased in numerous prestigious exhibitions, including the 14th and 13th National Fine Arts Exhibitions, the 2022 China Hundred Jinling Oil Painting Exhibition, the 9th National Youth Oil Painting Exhibition, and the 1st National Oil Painting Exhibition, among others. Xie has received several accolades, including the Collectible Works Award at the 2022 China Hundred Jinling Oil Painting Exhibition, the Magnolia Award at the 11th Shanghai Fine Arts Exhibition, and Bronze Awards at the "Classics and Inheritance-Chinese Young People's New Realistic Painting Exhibition" and "The Third Chinese Oil Painting Exhibition." He was also honored with the Excellent Prize at the "Third Chinese Oil Painting and New Talent Discovery Exhibition."
Xie Wenjin's artistic achievements have earned him grants from the National Art Fund and the Shanghai Cultural Development Fund. His works are part of collections at esteemed institutions such as the China Palace of Art (Shanghai Art Museum), Jiangsu Art Museum, Art Museum of the Chinese Academy of Oil Painting, Chinese Academy of Art, and the Longhua Martyrs' Memorial Museum in Shanghai, among other notable organizations and private collectors.
