In the late 80s, I left the great south and the Perpignan region for the first time to emigrate to Boulogne. It was at this time that I embraced a teaching career.

Settled in Boulogne sur mer for a few years, I was able to take advantage of the municipal school of fine arts in this charming town in Pas de Calais. At the time, this school was run by Jacques (I think ...) Salvignol. I attended evening workshops for adults which were led by the director at the time and Michel Dahlenne, the current director of the house.
These two excellent teachers introduced me to acrylic on large sheets of paper.

My technique was "gestural" perhaps inspired by "lyrical abstraction", in the footsteps of Mathieu (pictured opposite), a famous painter born in Boulogne sur mer. The large formats allowed for a dynamic expression. The colors used and the use of chalks, pastels and charcoals, give the works produced a lively and deep appearance. The whole leaves an impression of dazzling movement.

Some of these works can be appreciated in my gallery Acrylics on paper.
