Roses on the Window (1975) Painting by Vladimir Proshkin

Born on July 11, 1931 in Leningrad in the family of famous artists Victor Proshkin and Victoria Belakovskaya. In 2011 awarded the title of the Honoured Artist of Russia.

Participates in almost all exhibitions held by the Union of Artists (city, zonal, republican, All-Soviet Union), the Society of Watercolour Painters and other art associations. A participant of the international biennale “Art Bridge – Watercolour”. A constant participant of the annual show “Petersburg” held by the Central Exhibition Hall “Manege” as well as other exhibitions held by that institution. Participated in more than 200 exhibitions, including more than 25 solo shows, during a more than 55-year long artistic career.

The artworks of Vladimir Proshkin are in the collections of the State Russian Museum, the State Museum of Saint Petersburg History, the All-Russian Museum of Alexander Pushkin, the Museum “Summer garden and palace of Peter I”, the Omsk Paintings Gallery, the Krasnoyarsk Painting Gallery, the Rauma Repola gallery in Finland, the Museum of Contemporary European Art in Seoul as well as in private collections in Russia, Ukraine, Estonia, France, Italy, Germany, Finland, Israel.
