Hello, let me introduce myself, Virginie Castets, painter from Tarn and Garonne (82). From a rather abstract movement at the start, I first worked on mixtures of materials, such as resin, solvent-based paints, such as stained glass or ceramic, with acrylic paint. I also associated collage with it. But also and above all the unexpected, the moment when the magic happens when the materials work alone together....
The time for personal creations then naturally imposed itself. A fulfilled mother, married, and more than ever immersed in art both in my professional and personal environment, I decided to take up my acrylic tubes again.
Today, my works are the result of the instantaneous expression of my emotions. Combinations of bright and vibrant colors on dark bases, or conversely on transparent backgrounds. Glossy on matte, matte on shiny, an evocation of contrasts in harmony with my life!
I particularly like the square format, it is not there by chance, it focuses us on the most important thing, emotion. Painter, woman-child or woman-glamour, my painting flirts with the conscious or unconscious border of my daily and interior life. All these faces that I represent today are a call to freeze frame, to pause and realize who we are with simplicity. When a look says more than words...
