Déséquilibre (2008) Sculpture by Satébé

Attracted by the beauty of simple and sober things, I first painted then I came to sculpture in 2007, initiated by Emile Maignez. Very quickly, I found my style and now I fly with my own wings.
My venus callipyges are modeled in clay or sandstone, fired then given a predominantly red, blue and black patina or left natural or even waxed.
In the act of creation, modeling gives me a lot of pleasure, I listen to my senses and each sculpture is unique. None are alike.
They are not perfect or conventional. Their generous shapes move them away from the current canons of beauty, which does not make them less human.
They represent the modern woman in all her complexity...
Their head carriages look at you, at the world around them, just as they encourage you to look at them...
