Vasyl Dzhabraylov is a contemporary Ukrainian artist known for his monumental sculptures and dynamic participation in international art events. Born in 1958 in Transcarpathia, Ukraine, he studied at Uzhgorod Art College and the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts, specializing in monumental sculpture. His early career included participation in eight Republican Exhibitions in Kyiv during the late 1980s, and in 1990, he became a member of the Artists' Union of the USSR, later transitioning to the Union of Artists of Ukraine.
Dzhabraylov's work gained international recognition through his involvement in various sculpture symposia across the globe, including events in Romania, Switzerland, France, Italy, Albania, and Germany. Notably, he participated in the International Sculpture Marble Symposium in Vladikavkaz (1990), the International Granite Symposium in Montjean sur Loire, France (2008), and the First International Marble Sculpture Symposium in Saranda, Albania (2016).
In addition to his sculptural practice, Dzhabraylov has held numerous solo exhibitions showcasing his sculptures, paintings, and graphic works. Highlights include exhibitions in Oradea, Romania (2003), Negrești, Romania (2008), and Kyiv, Ukraine (2011). His works have been displayed in permanent exhibitions, such as in the GALERIILE “AUCHAN” in Satu Mare, Romania (2014–2015).
Dzhabraylov's artistic philosophy reflects a deep connection to material and form, often working with stone, wood, and marble to create pieces that resonate with both natural beauty and human expression. His recent endeavors include participation in the 5th International Sculpture Symposium in Oberaslag, Alsace, France, in May 2023.
