Né en 1967, Valéry Grancher est un artiste international, théoricien, conservateur et conférencier d'origine française, vivant et travaillant à Paris et à Hong Kong depuis 2014. Il s'est fait connaître pour la première fois au milieu des années 1990 pour avoir été l'un des premiers artistes du net (art en ligne) et pour ses « peintures Google », mais sa pratique artistique est vaste et couvre l'art sur Internet, la vidéo, la photographie, la peinture, la peinture IA et les installations VR. . Valéry Grancher est un explorateur. Sa curiosité l'amène à explorer toutes sortes de territoires tels que les différents médias et les nouvelles technologies pour définir de nouvelles formes et concepts. En 2014, la collection publique française Fonds National d'Art Contemporain, Centre National des Arts Visuels (FNAC) a acquis ses installations vidéo Geopol (un travelling de 24 heures sur l'horizon au pôle Nord) et Tanguntsa (un travelling de 6 heures en Amazonie profonde). Ses productions font partie de plusieurs collections publiques telles que la Fondation Cartier pour les arts contemporains (Paris), la Maison Européenne de la photographie (Paris), le Carillo Gil Museum (Mexique), le Berkeley Art Museum Pacific Film Archive (Berkeley), le ZKM (Karlsruhe), Bandjoune Station (Cameroun), VMAC (Hong Kong) et bien d'autres... Valéry Grancher a exposé et donné des performances dans des institutions du monde entier et son travail fait partie de nombreuses collections privées et publiques.
