France

Born in 1971, Valérie Perlein is a French artist who lives and works in France, devoting herself to drawing and photography. Her works span a range of mediums, from architectural photography to oil and acrylic on canvas, to charcoal, graphite, and acrylic on paper. Influenced by iconic figures such as Ernest Pignon Ernest, Rosa Bonheur, Eugène Leroy, Modigliani, Basquiat, and many other great masters such as Vermeer, Rembrandt, and Van Gogh, Perlein creates works at the crossroads of figurative and abstract.

With a Master's degree in Art Direction and Cultural Projects in Paris, she has forged an artistic approach rooted in technical rigor and conceptual exploration. Her architectural photographs capture the purity of lines and the structure of forms, while her drawings and paintings explore vibrant textures, rich impasto and a dynamic pictorial gesture, close to the dance between space and canvas.

Perlein has a particular fascination with the representation of horses, a subject that has fascinated her since childhood. The anatomical complexity of the animal has pushed her to master the precision of proportions and the fluidity of movements, while sometimes leaving room for a more contemporary expression. Whether in her nude studies or her equine compositions, Valérie Perlein manages to transmit a vibrant energy, mixing emotion and technique to create works that are both powerful and poetic.
