Emilia Valsellini, in arte Valemi, è una pittrice siciliana nata e cresciuta nella Valle dello Jato. ispirata dal contesto ambientale che la circonda, coltiva sin da giovane la passione per la pittura e, da autodidatta, trasmette sulla tela i paesaggi naturalistici che mutano e si trasformano in ambientazioni emozionali.
Durante la sua giovinezza impegni e responsabilità familiari non le permettono di coltivare le sue doti artistiche. Nel 2008 si riappropria dei suoi spazi e con rinnovata carica, tratta dal suo percorso spirituale, comincia una personale ricerca e sperimentazione delle tecniche pittoriche.
Nel 2014 frequenta un'associazione artistica nella città di Palermo dove studia le tecniche accademiche di nudo dal vero e del paesaggio. Da questa esperienza trae consapevolezza e sostegno che le permette di sviluppare linguaggi artistici diversi. Inizia così un nuovo percorso scoprendo la sua identità artistica nell'Arte Informale. Grazie a quest'ultima riesce a dare spazio alla sua creatività ed espressione che insieme alla sua incessante ricerca sperimentale la porta ad utilizzare sempre nuovi elementi naturali, come ad esempio sabbia, terre e ossidi, tanto che i quattro elementi della natura sono in lei tematiche ricorrenti.
Il suo continuo cimentarsi in elementi e tecniche nuove le permette di trovare libertà comunicativa per rappresentare il tempo nel suo movimento e la bellezza spirituale che abita in ogni cosa dando loro nuova vita con il suo tocco creativo.
Sembra che nei suoi dipinti i paesaggi si rarefanno per svelare attraverso i colori l'intimo dialogo dell'anima con essi.
