Vaiva Kovieraitė-Trumpė, born in 1985, is a Lithuanian artist based in her studio in Šiauliai, Lithuania. She holds a Master's degree in Fine Arts with a specialization in Printmaking and has actively participated in artistic projects, exhibitions, and residencies worldwide since earning her degree. Kovieraitė-Trumpė is a member of the Printmaking Association, Graphic i Vast in Gothenburg, Sweden (since 2012), and the Lithuanian Artists’ Association (since 2014).
Her creative process involves experimental methods, utilizing various techniques such as transfer technology and monotype, along with tools including cloths and spatulas. She also employs a diverse range of materials, including inks, pigments, liquids, solvents, and powders. Kovieraitė-Trumpė has held 18 solo exhibitions and participated in over 70 group exhibitions throughout her career.
Her notable art projects and memberships include participation in the 2022 Art Residency in Itala, Sicily, and the Vilnius Art Fair at Litexpo in Vilnius. She served as an artist-in-residence at the Klaipėda Culture Communication Center in 2022 and took part in the 10th International Latgale Graphic Art Symposium at the Marko Rothko Art Center in Daugavpils, Latvia. Kovieraitė-Trumpė has received multiple National Art Grants from Lithuania in 2020, 2021, and 2022, as well as awards such as the 2nd Prize at the International Exlibris Competition in Alytus in 2018.
In addition, she has received Young Artist Grants from the municipality of Šiauliai in 2018, 2013, and 2014, and the National Education Art Grant in 2018, 2014, and 2013. She has contributed as a curator for various art projects, including "Satellites" in 2016 and "Graphics from Different Perspective" in 2015. Kovieraitė-Trumpė has also been involved in significant international symposiums and educational programs, further establishing her reputation in the contemporary art scene.
