My pictorial practice is held in an in-between, a sort of ambivalence between the need for rigor and the rage to paint.
An ambivalence that reveals both pictorial questions and more intimate questions.
The formal effort is experienced as a surpassing of oneself, a desire to give a meditative dimension: to translate the breath, the respiration and the expiration, the flow and the re-flow, in a word the energy of life.
When I paint, the main driving force is not to show but to do. My painting is a wandering, a walk refusing any premeditation, the stake being in the present of the image being born and the observation of its metamorphoses in the constant dialogue between form and formlessness, thought and movement.
The painting unfolds following the movement of the body, the canvas becomes a mental space, an arena where energies are deployed.
The colors and shapes veil, overlap, cover, dilute or erase. The wrong gesture or the clumsy gesture calls to continue, to transform, to rectify until the right point of balance is found.
So, the contrasts that one grasps are linked to me, not in an anecdotal way, but as human emotions, ambivalences of my personality. And it is precisely these tuggings against ambivalences that make my research, a search for unity. The unity of the painting is an essential issue for me.

Painting has always been a necessity and an obvious choice that led me to study at the EESAB (European School of Art of Brittany) in Rennes. After obtaining the D.N.S.E.P (National Higher Diploma of Plastic Expression), my artistic activity began in Normandy where I practiced for 14 years before continuing in my home region, Brittany, since 2013. The TéTRIS gallery workshop has been presenting my work at 11 Grande Rue 22800 QUINTIN since 2019.
