Ankostik resim tekniğinin kökeni nedir?

Enkaustic boyama, erimiş mum içinde çözülmüş bir pigment karışımından yapılır. Encaustic, balmumu (bağlayıcı) ve farklı esanslara (terebentin özü, renk pigmentleri) dayalı bir müstahzardır. Mobilya ve cilalı parke zeminlerin bakımında kullanılır ancak bu karışım boyamada da kullanılır. Çini boyama veya balmumu boyama, Antik Çağ'dan beri bilinmektedir ve esas olarak ahşap üzerine boyama ile ilgilidir. En eski kullanımı, Mısır'da 1. yüzyıldan 5. yüzyıla kadar uzanan lahitler üzerinde bulunan Fayum portrelerine kadar uzanır.
