La rue regorge d'éléments visuels multiples qui changent au quotidien. Au travers de l’affichage sauvage, on nous adresse des messages éphémères : campagnes publicitaires, messages politiques, spectacles, revendications… Ces affiches sont le reflet de notre société qui parfois nous font sourire, méditer ou nous interroger. Elles annoncent la couleur, portent l’atmosphère de notre époque. Elles témoignent de notre monde avec ses révoltes, ses contradictions, ses excès mais aussi ses passions, ses engagements et ses plaisirs.
Le papier d'affiche a une richesse insoupçonnable. Par ses couleurs, ses images, ses typographies, ses textures, il est un matériau primaire d’une grande diversité. Jours après jours, le passage du temps fait son œuvre, les affiches se superposent, se confondent, se transforment, se décontextualisent et s’estompent…
Je passe beaucoup de temps à marcher dans les rues, à rechercher et à collecter ces affiches.
En les récupérant déchirées, usées ou fragmentées, je les associe au gré de mon inspiration en juxtaposant des éléments pour leur redonner un sens nouveau. Mes collages sur toile prennent vie dans mon atelier sous forme de tableaux et deviennent alors l’expression d’un moment dans une démarche artistique libre.
L'observateur devient alors le témoin de sa propre histoire.
