Jean-Pierre Emond est un dessinateur autodidacte spécialisé dans les représentations de portraits au bâton de graphite ou au fusain. Un travail puisant sa force dans le terreau du noir et blanc. C'est grâce à la maîtrise de l'ombre que la lumière trouve sa place, au-devant, renforçant en retour l'ombre, la faisant briller, presque parler. Au milieu d'elles, l'énergie née du ballet clair-obscur révèle des chemins de vie aussi surprenants qu'inattendus, tracés à même le charme du visage.
"Qui, en vous, vous trouvera aujourd'hui ?"
Cette question est le point de départ de chaque envie de dessiner. "Chaque visage est une histoire et chaque histoire est sur le point de se dévoiler. On se croirait devant un miroir", a déclaré un admirateur des dessins de Jean-Pierre Emond.
