Self-taught and passionate about the sea, boats and seafarers, I started painting gouaches of sailing fishing boats in the 80s in the spirit of Paul - Emile Pajot. Then I approached the technique - a little intimidating for the beginner - of watercolor but so well adapted to marine scenes!.
In the 90s, one of my large-format watercolors representing the Port de la Chaume (Sables d'Olonne) at the beginning of the 20th century) was selected and exhibited at the Musée de la Marine in Paris as part of the bi -annual also open to amateur painters.
My professional and personal activities having led me to travel and live in Africa, the Middle East and South-East Asia for many years, have allowed me to collect beautiful marine images and memories that I restore with pleasure in some of my paintings.
Once the subject has been found, I generally do fairly precise drawing work, so that the painting is realistic while trying to create an atmosphere with color harmonies.
