My adventure in painting started shortly after I retired from the National Cancer Institute where I worked as a molecular biologist. Having found myself with a lot of free time I started watching YouTube videos about contemporary art and came across acrylic pouring— immediately I got hooked. I was amazed how different types and densities of acrylic paints can create colorful cells that result in beautiful paintings. To me they look like the cellular world I once looked at under the microscope. Many of my art pieces are reminiscent of and inspired by the work I did with immuno-stained tissues. Acrylic pouring is like magic to me, I really enjoy the science behind it and I love to experiment with different pouring techniques and colors. I reside in Maryland and split my time between my wonderful grandchildren and perfecting my acrylic pours.
