Artist Teresa Wegrzyn was born in Poland where she obtained a degree in Civil Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology. In 1981 she and her family immigrated to Canada settling in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Attracted by the beauty of the West Coast, she later moved to New Westminster, B.C. Where she now lives and works.
After several years of working in an unrelated field, and inspired by the beauty of her new environment, Teresa regained her passion for painting and determined that it would become her life's work. The joy and satisfaction she derives from playing with color and light is evident in her bright and highly textured abstracts which shimmer with light and pure colors. It is her belief that every artist leaves a little piece of their soul in each of their works which remains locked within the image forever.
Teresa's paintings are in numerous private collections in Canada, the United States, Europe and Australia, and in 2013 she was honored with a seat on the jury panel for the Second Youth World Cup Live painting Competition in Richmond, B.C.
