Voordat ik de kunstenaar in mij losliet was ik strafrechtadvocaat. De mensen die ik heb verdedigd en de context van de misdaad, zijn ook nu nog een onschatbare bron aan inspiratie waar ik nog jaren uit kan putten! Mensen met een verhaal in allerlei verschijningen en gedaanten boeien me. Soms zijn het net dieren...
Ik ben geschoold en gevormd door de lessen van Jan Jutte. In mijn jeugd was hij mijn tekenleraar op de middelbare school en een paar jaar geleden ben ik opnieuw les gaan nemen bij hem (Jan Jutte Tekenschool in Arnhem). Ik werk zowel analoog (meestal met inkt, bister, pen, gouache, acryl) als digitaal. En nog vaker maak ik een mix van analoge beelden die ik meng met digitale bewerkingen. Ook gebruik ik collage als techniek. Wat mijn werk kenmerkt is dat het verhalende beelden zijn doorgaans met veel kleur en waarbij wetmatigheden over verhoudingen en perspectief vaak ver te zoeken zijn.
